UPS loyalty program

UPS does not operate a traditional consumer loyalty program. Small-business shippers can enroll in UPS Rewards, which gives qualifying account holders discounts and points on eligible shipments based on shipping volume. Households who track and manage deliveries can also enroll in UPS My Choice, a free membership that provides delivery alerts, address change requests, and rescheduling. A paid My Choice tier (Premium) adds extra features for a monthly fee. Neither program is a points-for-purchase scheme on the consumer side.

UPS describes what personal information it collects (account details, shipping addresses, payment information, device and location data, and browsing activity), how that information is used to provide and improve services and to communicate with customers, when it is shared with carriers, affiliates, vendors, and authorities, and how customers can exercise data-subject rights, including access, correction, deletion, and opt-out of certain processing. The notice also covers cookies, advertising choices, and contact details for the UPS Data Protection Office.

Money-back guarantee

UPS does not sell goods directly to consumers, so there is no consumer return policy. The closest equivalent is the UPS Service Guarantee, sometimes called the money-back guarantee. It refunds shipping charges for select services if a package misses the published commitment time, subject to suspensions UPS may declare during peak periods or service disruptions. Refund requests must be filed within 15 calendar days of the scheduled delivery. Read the UPS Service Guarantee. To file a lost or damaged package claim, use the UPS claims tool. 

Terms of use

The UPS website terms of use govern personal, non-commercial use of ups.com, the UPS mobile applications, and related tools. They cover acceptable use, account responsibility, intellectual property ownership, third-party content, disclaimers of warranties, limitation of liability, indemnification, and the venue and governing law for disputes. Shipping itself is governed by a separate UPS Tariff and Terms and Conditions of Service, which sets out rates, surcharges, declared value, prohibited items, and carrier liability rules.

How do I track a UPS package?

Enter your 1Z tracking number or InfoNotice reference number on the UPS tracking page to see real-time status updates, estimated delivery, and any exceptions. You can also text the tracking number to 69877 (MyUPS) for status by SMS in the U.S., or sign in to UPS My Choice to see all inbound packages in one dashboard. 

How do I create a UPS.com account?

Open the UPS account sign-up page and choose either a personal account, used for tracking and My Choice, or a business account, used to ship, print labels, and access UPS Rewards. You’ll need an email address, phone number, and a U.S. shipping address. Business accounts also require a billing payment method. 

How do I manage my UPS account or update my address?

Sign in at ups.com profile to update your address, contact details, payment information, and delivery preferences. Address changes flow through to UPS My Choice so future deliveries route to the new address. 

How do I change a UPS delivery address or reroute a package?

If your package has not yet been loaded for final delivery, sign in to UPS My Choice and choose ‘Change Delivery.’ Options can include redirecting to a UPS Access Point, holding for pickup, or rescheduling for a later date. Some changes are free, others carry a fee, and the option is not available on every shipment.

How do I ship a package with UPS?

File a claim on the UPS claims pageYou’ll need the tracking number, a description of the contents, and proof of value, such as an invoice or receipt, and, for damage claims, photos of the package and contents. Claims must be filed within 60 calendar days of the scheduled delivery date for U.S. shipments, and timelines differ for international and freight shipments. 

How do I request a refund when UPS misses a guaranteed delivery time?

Submit a refund request through the UPS Service Guarantee process within 15 calendar days of the scheduled delivery date. The guarantee can be suspended during peak periods or weather events, so check the current service alert before filing. UPS typically issues approved refunds as a credit to the shipper’s UPS account, not to the recipient.

UPS has not announced a broad change to published transit-time commitments for ground or air services, but routing on individual packages can shift. The clearest signal of your package’s timing is the estimated delivery date shown on the UPS tracking page.

What is the difference between UPS My Choice and UPS My Choice Premium?

UPS My Choice is the free membership: delivery alerts, an inbound-package dashboard, and the ability to request rerouting, hold for pickup, or rescheduling on eligible shipments. UPS My Choice Premium is a paid monthly upgrade that adds extras such as free upgraded rerouting, two-hour delivery windows where available, and authorize-shipment-release in eligible areas. Does UPS deliver on weekends?

Yes for most of the U.S., Monday through Saturday, with Sunday delivery available for SurePost packages handed off to USPS and for certain commercial customers. Residential delivery windows are generally 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time, but can run later during peak weeks. Sunday delivery is not universally available; check the estimated delivery date on the UPS tracking page for your shipment.

What if UPS delivers my package to the wrong address?

First, confirm the delivery photo and GPS location on the UPS tracking page. If the package was delivered to the wrong address, contact the shipper, who is UPS’s customer of record on most shipments, and ask them to open a missing-package case. You can also call UPS at (800) 742-5877 or file directly through the UPS claims tool. Do not keep a package delivered to you by mistake — arrange a return through UPS or with the sender.

Why is my UPS package not moving?

Tracking can pause for several normal reasons: the package is in transit between scan points, it’s awaiting customs clearance, it’s held for an incomplete address, or a weather or operational delay has hit the route. If the status hasn’t updated in 24 to 48 hours past the estimated delivery date, contact the shipper first, then escalate to UPS at (800) 742-5877 or through the UPS claims tool.
