My daughter bought a roundtrip ticket on Travelocity from New Orleans to Cleveland this weekend - outbound flight is on Delta, return flight is on United. Delta flight makes a connection in Detroit, and daughter has decided to get off the plane in Detroit & spend the night visiting friends who will drive her to Cleveland the next day.

TMI, but my worried mom question to the forum is this - in this situation, will her return flight to New Orleans be cancelled because she didn't complete the outbound flight? Or will she be fine since her trip is on 2 airlines with 2 different confirmation numbers?

Thanks.

Good to worry, LLA! Buying air from an online booker is always a bad idea. But we can probably tell from the PNR, hopefully plural. Next time, buy air directly from the airline, same for the hotels ... book direct.
