Hotel in Turkey I booked gave me somewhat of a backhand threat?

I have spoken to PL, my next step would be to email the PL people, lets see what comes out of it and I will make sure to let you guys know the final outcome.

I hope that you can obtain full cancellation and a refund. I can't imagine that you'd be comfortable staying at this hotel, so I agree with my colleagues ... just chalk this up to a life lesson, book a decent hotel and go enjoy yourself. What you experienced with your CC being declined happens all the time on the internet. It is vitally important that people learn to back off and WAIT. After a few days, you can verify if a charge has cleared or not by checking your CC account.

For some reason, over the last week, I have had three or four instances where my CC was declined online. There's no issue with my card, so I waited to see what happened. In three instances, the charge did go through. I have no idea why this is happening, but there's obviously an electronic glitch somewhere. The very worst thing you can do when booking travel on the internet is make the booking again. Then you end up with multiple reservations ... in your case non-ref reservations. The bottom line is to have a successful trip, and to do that you need to be comfortable with your accommodations.
