It’s really hard to take a bad picture of La Quinta

Sometimes you just have to get out of the way of a post and let the pictures do the talking. Such is the case of the photogenic La Quinta Resort & Club near Palm Springs, Calif.

Not that La Quinta. This one.

It helps that I’m shooting this on a Canon 1d Mark IV. With a tripod. And using high dynamic range imaging to capture the perfect light.

Still, I have no doubt that if I were using a point-and-shoot, the images would be equally compelling. What else would you expect from an historical resort built in the 1920s? This was taken around 6 p.m., when most of the resort’s guests had left for dinner. I’m a sucker for water shots, and the HDR program I’m using, Photomatix, really does a bang-up job of combining the exposures. I was endlessly fascinated by the doors on this conference room. I took several pictures from different angles, but this one was by far the most captivating.

I have gone through varieties of travel agencies affiliated to the defense department but sato travel seemed to me the most reliable travel agency that I must refer to everyone to go with; after all, it has earned an apparent, offbeat recognition in the industry for offering excellent travel-related services and amenities in the industry. That is why majority of US Air force, army, Navy, Marine personnel including the US government and their associates exclusively go with sato travel military to get best travel experience. If you work in any of the said departments, you can make certain to stay in luxurious hotels, world-class car rental services, offbeat travel insurance plan, and of course the exclusive refundable travel protection plan that you must avail. sato travel agency is simply the best!

Excellent HDR photos Chris!! The photo of the pool is truly stunning.

Thanks for sharing what software you used, Photomatix.

I love my new Canon G11, which has an automatic exposure bracketing feature as well. You’ve inspired me to go out and take some more photos.

I loved visiting La Quinta so much I ended up buying a second home there. Patrick Stewart Properties found me a gorgeous home in the La Quinta area. I love that I can now visit when ever I want, since I have my own place. It truly is a beautiful area, and the surrounding areas as well are ideal. No wonder you were able to get such great photos on your visit since you were in La Quinta.

Nice photos – however the swimming pool shot is mostly in the shade – would have a lot more color in is if there was still some sunlight illuminating the pool. However at that time of day you’ve managed to capture a fantastic deep blue sky (or did you photoshop it?).
