Sometimes you just have to get out of the way of a post and let the pictures do the talking. Such is the case of the photogenic La Quinta Resort & Club near Palm Springs, Calif.
Not that La Quinta. This one.
It helps that I’m shooting this on a Canon 1d Mark IV. With a tripod. And using high dynamic range imaging to capture the perfect light.
Still, I have no doubt that if I were using a point-and-shoot, the images would be equally compelling. What else would you expect from an historical resort built in the 1920s?
This was taken around 6 p.m., when most of the resort’s guests had left for dinner. I’m a sucker for water shots, and the HDR program I’m using, Photomatix, really does a bang-up job of combining the exposures.
I was endlessly fascinated by the doors on this conference room. I took several pictures from different angles, but this one was by far the most captivating.
