Caught up in Disney’s Fantasy

I had a chance to get on board the new Disney Fantasy cruise ship during a recent preview in Manhattan. The ship will be the biggest in the Disney cruise line but hasn’t forgotten what makes the experience so personal - access to the characters. Of course our favorite part of the cruise is the shows (no, not the food though that’s pretty good, too). On this ship they’ve developed two new Broadway-style musicals, how they’ll ever surpass the drama and spunk from the Disney Wonder’s Hercules Muse–icle is beyond me. They’ve also added new experiences, like becoming a guest animator, while keeping some of my son Aren’s favorites from the Dream. Of course, I’m talking about the Aquaduck water slide. There’s more, but you’ll have to see for yourself.

We’ve been on DCL’s Dream and Wonder. We loved both. I can’t wait to get on the Fantasy!

I always said I’d never go on a cruise after reading all the horror stories (and the two recent Costa incidents) but DCL makes me want to give it a go. Looks nice!

I’ve been on the Magic and will be on the Wonder in about a month. I agree about the shows being FANTASTIC! My favorite on the Magic was Twice Charmed (a “what if” version of Cinderella that would work on Broadway). Rotational dining is also fun, especially Animator’s Palate.
Having cruised on other ships after my Disney cruise, I can say I’m spoiled by how good Disney is compared to other cruise lines. I’ve sworn to myself I’m ONLY cruising Disney from here on out!

We’ve been on the Magic & Wonder a couple of times each, and will be aboard the Magic again later this fall – from Manhattan no less, as we’re taking one of the 5-day eastern Canada cruises.

For us, the Magic & Wonder are big enough. That, and we’re not that interested in doing another Caribbean cruise, so we’d been avoiding the Dream & Fantasy. But now we’re starting to consider it, if only to be on one of the two new boats at least once. :)
