Oh no, Iden is awake

Playtime — I am sleeping less and playing more. Pretty soon I'll be crawling. Note to parents: the house isn't babyproofed yet. Better get crackin'. (Oh no, Iden is awake.)

KO'd on the floor — When it's time for a nap, it's time for a nap. (Iden sleeps.)

Oh, the psychologist's bills Iden will have to pay some day

Clean as a bear — I love baths. But not as much as the funny towels Mommy drapes me in afterwards. (Oh, the psychologist's bills Iden will have to pay some day.)

Iden eats cereal

This cereal is killer — Doc said I could start eating solid foods. But I have to be honest, it's more fun to play with. (Iden eats cereal.)

Aren hangs with the bridal posse

Big fat Norwegian wedding — I can't believe they made me hold these flowers. (Aren hangs with the bridal posse.)

Aren with his cousin

You baby! — Aunt Kaia is getting hitched today. As a bonus, I got to meet my cousin Annalisa for the first time. (Aren meets his cousin.)

Aren and Grandpa catch a big one

My first fishing lesson — Pop-pop and I visited the barn and went fishing. We caught lots of trout and watched the dogs swim in the lake. Hey, Grandpa, it's my turn. (Aren and Grandpa catch a big one.)

What's New?

Aren had a great time visiting with everyone at the wedding. He is currently working on his computer skills.

Iden is mobile. His favorite stunts include almost rolling off the bed and escaping the car seat.

Mommy is in the MBA program at UCF and starts classes in August.

Daddy is a writing machine. He's been getting a lot more work done since the Austrian coffee arrived!

Max is once again the supreme ruler of the household. Nobody knows for sure how he's gotten Aren on the run.

I'm a Celebrity!

Hey baby, I'm big in Europe! The Guardian just wrote a story about my blog, describing me as having "fair hair and the cutest little smile" (which, of course, I do) and suggesting that my blog has a "cult following" (which it does).

I've Got Mail!

"If Aren found a blue egg and put it in his pail, And then he saw a bunny with a fluffy white tail, He'd tell his brother Iden this is a funny tale, I think we just discovered the Easter Bunny trail."

"I was out back by the old stone wall, When I heard a little voice make this call, "My toe is stuck and I can't get free, Oh please! Oh please! Lend a hand to me!" I looked very close at a little green hat, I moved a rock and up he sat, He was dressed in green with a great big smile, He hopped and hopped all around the pile, "For all your help you will get a prize, Put out your hand and close your eyes! Better than gold is the charm I give, Luck every day as long as you live! This goes for you and all your kin including Aren and Baby Iden." I saw him hop into the dawn, He was my very first Leprechaun!"

Hi Aren, Here is a little poem I made up. 'Twas right around Christmas when all through the house; Reminders of someone who was not a mouse. A Mickey by my toothpaste, a yellow duck by the Right Guard; A Jeep on the back porch wanting a spin in the yard. Boxes of raisins, Cheerios on the floor; 8 Blues Clues tapes and many things more. But what does it mean When you have all of this? You have a dear grandson - Here's a big hug and kiss! With all my love,"

"Dear Aren, Last night I wanted to write this Halloween greeting but as I walked past the basement door my pen seemed to be pulled from my fingers and flew down the stairs. I started down the stairs to get it and clicked the switch but the light wouldn't work. I was halfway down when I heard a noise from the dark below. I looked hard all around. The stair creaked. Was there something looking back at me from the dark? I thought, "It is too dark down here!", but then I heard it again. What to do? YELL BOO! I hope I didn't scare you."

"Dear Aren, happy second birthday to you! I can't wait to grow up and meet you! You are quite a world traveler and must be able to tell tons of interesting stories about all your adventures. I just returned from my first vacation in Hilton Head. It was super."

Your new cousin Anneliese

"Dear Aren,
The Easter Bunny came here and left some really good jelly beans. The jelly beans were secretly contained in a tricky disguised fake Easter Bunny. We have been around a while and can tell these things. The beans, being valuable were stored in one of the most indestructible containers known, the fabulous jelly jar. To verify the origin, we dusted for rabbit paw prints and found a few smudged ones but not enough for a positive match. We did find traces of crayons and raisins and our reflecterominator (it captures a picture of the last person in the vicinity) showed a big smile and the audio sounded like a happy laugh but instead of a Bunny it looked an awful lot like you - a big Boy!"
